ADAM

The Advanced Digital Design and Manufacturing (ADAM) team seeks to accelerate Airbus’ transition towards digital design and manufacturing. The team is uniquely positioned to identify and innovate on emerging technologies with collaborators in Silicon Valley and across the globe. Currently, the ADAM team is focused on the application of AI to improve manufacturing efficiency at Airbus, specifically in the space of automated data collection using computer vision.

The Opportunity (Role description): 

As a Frontend Software Engineer you will play a crucial role in delivering impactful projects that prioritize speed, quality and cost-effectiveness.  You will thrive on using  data to inform your software development decisions and excel in an agile work environment, where quick delivery, constant testing and iteration are the norm.  We encourage creative thinkers who love tackling challenges head-on and implementing innovative solutions.  

Responsibilities: 

• Develop front-ends for various tools.
• Create GUIs for data input, model creation / instantiation and data visualization.
• Create and extend reusable front-end components in our open-sourced library.
• Collaborate  with the team in code and architecture reviews.
• Create clear and comprehensive documentation in multiple formats to support project needs including milestone, monthly and quarterly reports.
• Tackle challenges and find creative solutions. 

Requirements: 

• Proficiency in React.
• Solid experience using HTML5 / CSS / JS (ES6+).
• Familiarity with REST APIs and connecting them effectively. 
• Experience with source control tools such like Git or Subversion.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
• A Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 3 years of experience in web UI development.  

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with TypeScript.
• Familiarity with React Hooks or MobX or other State Management libraries.
• Knowledge of front-end testing with Jest or Cypress.
• Experience in server-side development (ExpressJS, PostgreSQL).
• Exposure to GraphQL (Hasura).
• Understanding of WebGL / X3D.

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location and years of experience, the target annual salary for this position can range from $140,000 - $190,000 + target bonus + benefits (including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and flight training).
