Vahana

Transitioned Project

Demonstrating the viability of a self-piloted, electric urban air mobility vehicle

Vahana

04

Years Active

Vahana launched in 2015 with the mission to advance self-piloted, electric vertical takeoff and landing flight

100

Team Members

Over the years, our team has included data scientists, engineers and flight operations professionals focused on designing, developing and testing safe, short-range, self-piloted transportation

130+

Test Flights

We have demonstrated fully self-piloted flight with electric propulsion and completed full-transition from hover to cruise and back again

"We approach problems holistically. I don't think it's rational or reasonable to do engineering without accounting for the constraints upon which it must exist."

Zach Lovering

Vice President, Urban Air Mobility Systems

Vahana is a self-piloted eVTOL demonstrator

Project Vahana developed and flight tested an all-electric, self-piloted vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) passenger aircraft.

Our work on this demonstrator confirms our belief that fully autonomous vehicles will allow us to achieve the scale required of Urban Air Mobility.

Autonomous flight is the future of the aerospace industry

Vahana pioneered urban air mobility by:

  • Building a business case
  • Demonstrating autonomous flight
  • Demonstrating all-electric vertical flight
